Our Town.

Kyabram is a small country town nestled in the Goulburn Valley, affectionately known as ‘Ky’ by the locals. With an easy 30 minute drive to Shepparton and Echuca, it is close to the Murray and Goulburn Rivers and Waranga Basin.

Ky’s central shopping precinct is dotted with captivating street art and includes specialty, general retail, services and free parking.

Local Attractions.

 

Kyabram Fauna Park.

The town’s star attraction is the Kyabram Fauna Park, renowned for its breeding and conservation of native Australian animals, birds and reptiles. The Park is currently undergoing extensive renovations but is well worth a visit for the up-close animal encounters, hand feeding, education sessions or just a relaxing wetlands walk.

 

Cactus Country.

Visit Australia’s largest cactus garden at Cactus Country. Located in Stathermerton Victoria, just an hours drive from Kyabram, Cactus Country is a little piece of Mexico on the Murray. Explore our 12 acres of gardens, capture the most Insta-worthy of photos, take home a cacti of your own and add some Mexican flavour to your visit in the Café / Bar.

Town Hall Gallery.

Arts and culture tickle your fancy?
Look no further than the Kyabram Town Hall – a hub of history, fashion, art and information. The gallery spaces feature heritage clothing collections, as well as a range of art, craft, sculptures and memorabilia. Ask one of the friendly volunteers on the front counter for tourist and local information tips.

 

Rushworth Township.

Rushy, as it’s commonly nicknamed, is a popular tourist stop – meander along the natural landscape taking in interpretive signage describing the site as it was centuries ago. Take a self-guided cycling or walking tour to Whroo and the Balaclava Mine, through the state forest, and grab lunch, dinner or an ice cream in town when you’re done.

Plaza Theatre.

Experience boutique cinema at its finest at the Plaza Theatre. The Plaza opened in 1929 as a cinema, theatre and dance palais making it one of the original and longest running of its kind. Recently restored to it’s former glory, the Theatre plays the latest arthouse and commercial films, as well as local concerts and performances.

 

Parklands Golf Club.

Kyabram Parkland is Kyabram's Par 3, 18 Hole Golf Course, home of the Victorian Par 3 Championships and the only Par 3 course in Victoria! With a unique Par 3 design and elevated greens, it's sure to test your short game with hole sizes ranging from 124 metres to 219 metres. The perfect way to swing away an afternoon.

Water Art Mural.

The Kyabram Water Tank was painted by artist Jimmy DVate and completed in March 2021. The water tank mural highlights the wetlands at the Kyabram Fauna Park, a crucial tourism and environmental feature of Kyabram. The Water Tank is just one of many murals located across the regional Victoria water art trail.

Kyabram Club.

Affordable meals, outdoor playground for the kids with outdoor dining. The club also has a Sports Bar and Poker machines. A courtesy bus can collect you on a Friday & Saturday night

Cafe in the historic Post Office. Open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday to Sunday, with restaurant meals available Wednesday to Sunday nights.

Burnt Butter.

A beautiful local cafe serving up delicious breakfasts and lunches. Located in the main street, it’s the perfect place for meeting a friend, or stopping in for an afternoon ice cream.

7 Beans.

The best little coffee shop in town. Great coffee and quick service, with an assortment of sweet treats and pastries available for a quick lunch or morning tea. Stop in or order via the Skip app.

Echuca Moama.

Located just 30 minutes from Kyabram, the twin towns of Echuca Moama are nestled on the Murray River, surrounded by iconic red gum forests and charming country towns. Cruise the river on an historic paddlesteamer, explore the two defined wine regions, tour the silo art trail, visit award-winning attractions, get adventurous on the walking and cycling trails, and watch the sun go down beside a riverside campfire.

Paddlesteamer Cruise.

Experience the magic of the mighty Murray River onboard a Paddlesteamer, departing daily at Echuca Wharf. Book ahead to avoid disappointment.

 

Wineries.

Echuca Moama is home to two defined wine regions as well as a selection of local and regional wineries, breweries and a distillery. Our favourites include Cape Horn and Morrison’s Winery.

Port of Echuca.

Discover the bustling Port of Echuca, a living monument to the 1870s when it was the third-largest port in Australia, outside Sydney and Melbourne.

 

Restaurants.

Echuca Moama has a diverse range of excellent dining options to suit everyone. Some of our favourites include the Echuca Hotel, The Junction, The Mill, The American and The Border Inn.

Billabong Ranch.

Situated just outside of Echuca, a short journey brings you to a range of fun activities including horse rides, mini-golf, rock climbing and much more.

Echuca Moama has a number of cafes perfect for a morning coffee or brunch. Our favourites include Johnny & Lyle, Three Black Sheep, 7 Beans and The Sweet Meadow.

Riverboats Music Festival.

The award-winning Riverboats Music Festival is staged over three days and nights, playing host to some of the most celebrated names in Australian music.
